Adult Ministries

Sunday School

  • Side by Side class meets in rooms 1 & 2 downstairs.

    This class pursues four- to eight-week studies, with topics that range from Bible studies to social issues and spiritual growth. Class members support each other and strive to grow in their faith

  • Christians in a Secular World (CISW) meets in Room 4 in the basement. CISW discusses Christian responses to current events with interests in science, history, and politics.

  • Genesis meets in the Room 3 in the basement.. This class offers a great Bible study, as well as wonderful fellowship. This class is studying the Bible verse by verse, starting with Genesis. All ideas are welcome.

  • Our newest class is for parents raising children and meets in room six.. Topics include the ups and downs of parenting with an eye toward learning how to integrate faith in our lives with our children.

Women’s Ministries

  • Imagine connecting with other women on the journey of knowing, loving and serving God. Women can enjoy mutual support, accountability and friendship — along with opportunities to connect with other women on their faith journey.

  • Small groups, studies and events are available where women can get to know God and follow Jesus, develop a supportive and encouraging network and work toward making the world a better place.

  • Special events include catered lunch meetings, Saturday morning breakfast programs, retreats, and mission fundraising projects. Details are announced before each event.

  • Women at the Gate, our Aldersgate United Women of Faith unit, serves as the model to create opportunities at Aldersgate, as well as to bring women together in an organization of approximately 800,000 members from United Methodist churches all across the world, and especially within the Great Plains Conference United Women of Faith. Participate in a small group to grow in faith, hope and love in action as part of Women at the Gate.

  • Meets once a month, usually at 7 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at members’ homes, to read and discuss a variety of books. Books are chosen in January for the year .Contact Debbie Ball for more information.

  • We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00am in the Youth Room - Ladies, please feel free to join us for fellowship and spiritual enrichment!

Men’s Ministries

  • Aldersgate United Methodist Men serve the Aldersgate congregation and the United Methodist Church through many forms of outreach. They frequently sponsor a golf tournament fundraiser, with the money raised going to a variety of area non-profit organizations.

    Throughout the year, Aldersgate United Methodist Men also are involved in a variety of UMMother activities, such as:

    Work retreats at Camp Chippewa to repair the facilities, perform maintenance, and improve the grounds and buildings.

    Plan, cook, and serve the Easter SonRise Breakfast.

    Work on Habitat for Humanity projects.

    Community outreach through the Salvation Army and other organizations.

    Participate in District and Conference activities.

    United Methodist Men’s Purpose

    Aldersgate United Methodist Men provide a forum for men of all ages to grow in their spirituality together, and support for each other in a multitude of ways. Members also hope they can be mentors, leaders, and act as role models for young men inside and outside Aldersgate.

  • Meets on Thursday mornings at 7am at McDonald’s at 151st and Black Bob. Enjoy a small devotion and fellowship. Contact John Hall for more information.

Senior Adults

  • Senior adults meet at area restaurants for fun and fellowship. The FOGYs have been involved in various service projects, such as serving dinner at the Salvation Army and raising funds to benefit Aldersgate.

    They’ve also helped to fill Easter eggs for the Aldersgate Lenten Fair egg hunt and other needs in our community. If you’re a senior adult, come join in!

Bible Studies

  • Join us on Tuesday evenings, 7-8:30 pm in room 110 for study and fellowship. Past studies have included Confronting the Controversies by Adam Hamilton, a virtual study of the book of Matthew, Angels, Revelation and The Gospel according to Dr. Seuss. So as you can see they are all over the map.If you want to learn more about the nature of the class feel free to contact John Hall.

  • 3 week Book Study beginning Wed., July 8th from 6:30-8 pm. Join Pastor Shelly for this thought provoking study. It will be held downstairs in the Youth Room!
