Reverse Advent
This year, we invite our church family to participate in Reverse Advent. Instead of receiving a gift each day—as is traditional—Reverse Advent encourages us to give each day. See the calendar below for items needed. Donations may be placed on the shelves outside the preschool office or under the tree in the Commons. Please bring all items by December 30 so our volunteers can distribute them promptly. Thank you for giving generously and sharing Christ’s love in this season of giving.

The Longest Night
Even in the darkest night, the light of Christ is not overcome.
It's a service that honors the real emotions people carry and offers God's peace in the midst of them. Join us on December 21 at 7:00 pm for a gentle, contemplative worship gathering held near the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. Many churches offer it during Advent as a way to acknowledge that not everyone feels merry and bright during the holidays.

Hanging of the Greens
Plan now to join fellow AUMCers as we transform our interior space for the Christmas season.
Our worship service will get us started by decorating the sanctuary and getting us into the holiday spirit with songs of the season and sharing some of the history of our beloved Christmas tradition. Following Sunday Schools on Sunday November 23rd (approximately 11:30 AM). A soup and sides luncheon will be offered. Based on last year we could use 6-8 soups, 2-4 veggie trays/salads and four desserts. Please sign up on the link below and indicate whether you will be able to help out by providing some food.
The Chiefs game will be on the sanctuary screens for your viewing pleasure.

Mid-Week Bible Study and Video Presentation
You are invited to join the Midweek Bible study on Tuesday, November 4 at 7 PM to watch a video of Dr. Ashley Boggan's well researched keynote address from the 2025 Great Plains Annual Conference. It focuses on John Wesley's calling to his colleagues (AND US) to be vile and scandalous in our faith. REALLY, REALLY SCANDALOUS! It is RIVETING. Popcorn will be provided. The video is about 60 minuters long. We meet in the side-by-side classroom in the AUMC basement. Let John Hall know if you plan to attend so he can make sure there is enough popcorn!!
